Aston Martin opened its first official dealership on the high street in Mumbai, India. The new facility opens at Kemps Corner at the crossroads of Breach Candy and Peddar Road, if you’re local, which is, as you’d expect, a very high-end shopping and hotel district.

Martin van der Sande, Aston’s Chief Commercial Officer said, “Our decision to bring the Aston Martin brand to India is driven by a strong level of interest and enthusiasm from potential customers in an emerging luxury market. We have taken our time to find the right advocates for Aston Martin and I am confident that we have selected strong partners with whom we look forward to starting a successful relationship.”

Asian and Middle Eastern countries are very important to Aston Martin’s future. They expect to sell fully one-quarter of their 5000 unit annual production run in those regions over the next five years.

Aston Martin’s partner in the venture, Performance Cars Ltd., has built a foundation around a strong sales and service reputation over the past several years, paving the way for the ultra-premium brand in India. Of the partnership with Aston Martin, Lalit Choudary , Performance Cars Managing director said, “Partnering Aston Martin offers us an unique opportunity to bring one of the world's iconic brands to one of the most discerning and fast growing markets. We are confident about the brand's success in India given the range of models, the comfortable ride quality the cars offer on our roads and the exclusivity they accord.”

If you’re in the market for an Aston Martin, the new V8 Vantage will be priced at 15.5 million rupees. The sexy coupe-styled four door Rapid will run 21.5 million rupees and for Aston Martins wealthiest Indian clients, the very limited edition One-77 will run 200 million rupees.

Mumbai is a little out of the way? No worries, a sister dealership is expected to open in New Delhi by the end of May. The new showroom brings Astons Martin’s dealer network to 134 covering 42 countries around the world.
