to supply its V8 and V12 engines. The deal ensures that the current Aston Martin lineup will stay in production at least until the contract runs out.

It is possible that in five years Aston Martin will have a mix of AMG- and Ford-built engines in its lineup, but the plan is to eventually transition completely to AMG engines. 

The current Ford-supplied engines do not comply to Euro6 emissions standards, and Aston Martin will have to retune them, which could be lower power in the near future.
