will be presenting new tools at Automechanika 2012 to repair its aluminum body panels and hybrid models. It will also show new training techniques for its employees
“At Audi, we want to delight customers worldwide. Perfect service plays a key role in doing so, and we are emphasizing that once more with our appearance at Automechanika 2012. For us, premium service means much more than impeccable repairs and servicing. Together with our service partners, we set great store by uncompromising quality management – including every single service at our dealerships as well as dedicated training of employees," said Bernd Hoffmann, director of service and genuine parts at AUDI AG.
Audi has developed a training regimen for servicing its hybrid models. It also has created special tools and equipment for servicing them.
It has also created a new multi-purpose tool for repairing aluminum body panels. It generates six metric tons of hydraulic force, but is safe for the more malleable aluminum.
Audi will also present the second generation Audi Service Key that analyzes problems on Audis and determines the needed repair and how long it will take. It also creates databases of the cars at a specific dealership. When a car is ready for service, the system alerts the manager to contact the owner. Customers no longer have to worry about a printed booklet with stamps after service appointments. The system will be implemented next year.
Automechanika is held every two years in Frankfurt for the automotive aftermarket industry.
