have taken the next step in their jointly developed sports car project and agreed on an architecture for the platform.

They signed the agreement to develop the car as part of their June 2012 deal to research lithium-air batteries for cars.

"We have agreed on a joint architecture for a sports car. What is important is that there will be two different vehicles that are authentic to the two brands," said Herbert Diess, head of development at BMW.

Toyota has been hinting that it is working on a sports car project that may be part of this project, and the new car may carry the SupraSupraToyota SupraJapan, 1979 > 20024 series
