have quite a lineup planned for the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The biggest draw for the marque will be Nelson Piquet driving the Brabham BT52Brabham BT52 BMWUnited Kingdom, 1983 > present1 photo
30 years after he won the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship in the car. BMW will also be giving the Gran Lusso CoupeBMW Gran Lusso CoupeGermany, 2013 > 2013 its UK debut at the show. Mini is also supplying ten specially modified bumper cars for visitors to drive.
Piquet will drive the BT52 up the Goodwood Hill. The BT52 was powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with 1,500hp in qualifying trim, and a body designed by Gordon Murray.
Piquet will also drive an M1 ProcarBMW M1 Group 4Germany, 1979 > present2 photos
up the Goodwood Hill.
Finally, BMW will be racing the V12 LMRBMW V12 LMRGermany, 1999 > present3 photos
up the Goodwood Hill. The 580hp V12 prototype won the 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans and will be driven by former F1 driver Marc Surer.
The BMW pavilion will display all of the current BMW M Cars and host an autograph session with Fifth Gear host and former racer Tiff Needell.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from July 11-14 with most events beginning on July 12.
