has been diverting thousands of cars originally intended for Europe to the US and Asia this year due to the economic downturn.
"Challenges in Europe are getting greater," said Ian Robertson, BMW sales chief.
Unfortunately growth in China is no longer in the double digits, and that is affecting things as well. It is making BMW focus on sales more and more in North America, which is not on the strongest footing itself. Still, sales in the US and China are still up over last year, and Roberson expects that they will stay that way through the rest of the year.
BMW deliveries were up 14% for September and up 8.6% through the first three quarters.
