is not even on sale yet, but BMW will have a set of additional M Performance Parts ready as soon as the car hits dealer showrooms. The various M Performance packages include upgrades to the engine power, suspension, aerodynamics and interior.
First there is the M Performance Power Kit that adds power to several 4 Series models. The package adds 16hp and 30lb-ft of torque to the 420d, adds 27hp and 30lb-ft to the 430d and adds 34hp and 37lb-ft of torque to the 435iBMW 435i Coupé AutoGermany, 2013 > present. BMW says that the Power Kit has no affect on the fuel consumption or emissions.
It is also offering an M Performance exhaust for the 428i and 435i that adds chrome exhaust tips or optional carbon for the 435i.
BMW is also offering a rear limited-slip differential for all of the models.
The rest of the upgrades are available for all of the models and include the BMW M Performance suspension; red, yellow, or orange brake calipers; 20in lightened alloy wheels and 18in winter wheels.
There is also an M Performance body kit that adds a black kidney grill, black diffuser at the rear, black side sills, side stripes, a carbon front splitter, black mirror caps and black rear spoiler.
The M Performance interior package includes a sport steering wheel with a shift display at the top. The steering wheel, gearshift and handbrake lever are covered in Alcantara with carbon fiber trim. On automatic transmission models, the gearshift is carbon fiber. The package also adds steel pedals and M Performance floor mats.
BMW has not announced prices yet, but an example of the 4 Series with all of the parts will be on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
