displayed the Ciel concept at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Its cascading headlights echoed the look of the third generation CTS that has just been revealed. For this year, Cadillac created a new concept that refines the look of the Ciel. The Cadillac Elmiraj Concept is making its debut at Pebble Beach this year and imagines a future four-passenger grand coupe.

The Elmiraj imagines a vehicle that would sit at the top of the Cadillac range. It is a big car at 5.207m (205in) long and seats four people in a streamlined, rear-wheel drive platform. The car is somehow equally retro and very modern.

The car has a long length from dash-to-axle, which has become symbolic of luxury cars because it was so popular in these types of vehicles in the 20s and 30s. It also gives the car a coupe-like look, despite being able to carry four passengers.

At the front, the car has cascading vertical headlights, which is becoming a Cadillac design staple. The hood also has two aluminum vents to release heat from the engine, which gives the car an aeronautic look. The Cadillac emblem has been redesigned at the grill and is meant to look streamlined and tightly tailored.

“Cadillac is fueled by the creativity of our designers, led by Ed Welburn. Elmiraj provides a look inside the Cadillac Studio on how we envision performance and luxury for the next generation of luxury drivers,” said Bob Ferguson, head of Cadillac.

Power comes from a 4.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 500hp and 500lb-ft of torque. Cadillac is not saying whether this is an actual production engine or bespoke for the concept.

It rides on 22in wheels with ceramic brake discs and monoblock calipers.

The interior is driver-focused with a single-piece dashboard with the instrument panel and infotainment nested inside of it.  Its 10in touchscreen is emerges from the dashboard only when needed.

The interior trim is made from titanium and in some places it is backlit by LEDs. The rest of the trim is made from Brazilian Rosewood that is hand cut into three-dimensional sections.

Cadillac hints that a vehicle like the Elmiraj may be on the way.

“Elmiraj is constructed with chassis and structural elements of an ongoing Cadillac vehicle development project slated for future production. This new vehicle architecture expands the brand’s commitment to lightweight RWD performance,” said Cadillac’s statement.
