However, Caterham thinks that it is time to develop a completely new model of its own, and it intends to have that car on sale by 2015. According to a report in the German magazine Spiegel, Caterham is working with Renault for the engine. Caterham wants to increase its volume. Despite being in business since the 70s, it sells just 1,500 cars a year. The current Caterham Seven appeals to a very small, hardcore audience who want a car without ABS, traction control, stability control or even a roof.
