Dacia, as Renault's low-priced marque in Europe, has slowly been gaining steam since it was purchased by Renault in 1999. Its line-up, while small, offers a reasonably priced alternative to inexpensive cars from Korean manufacturers. This March at the Geneva Motor Show Dacia plans to add an MPV to its line-up called the Lodgy.
Dacia is keeping mum about the specs of the Lodgy for now. It will have three rows of seats and be 4.5 meters long. Dacia promises that the Lodgy will be priced at a market that would usually have to buy a used vehicle to get an MPV. It will have a large cabin space and be able to hold a lot of cargo.
Dacia already uses the Lodgy to compete in the Andros ice-racing series. It is driven by ex-Formula 1 driver Alain Prost, Nicolas Prost and Evens Stievenart. Alain Prost has won two of the three races this season in the Lodgy, and he stands at the top of the points at the moment.
