is taking the modern 500 back to its roots with the 1957 Edition for the United States. The car looks back the original car with a baby blue and off white color scheme and classic wheel designs. It even wears Fiat’s old logo.
"Created for Italian car and design fans who want an added sense of the historic Cinquecento's spirit, the ‘1957 Edition’ features unique styling elements, material finishes and, of course, a manual transmission and sport-tuned suspension,” said Jason Stoicevich, Head of Fiat for North America.
All of the 1957 Editions will come standard with the Sport suspension and 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine and are based on the LoungeFiat 500 1.4 Multiair Sport United States of America, 2011 > present3 photos
trim level. A five-speed manual is standard, but a six-speed automatic is optional.
They are available in three classic color schemes – all white, Verde Chiaro light green or the Celeste baby blue and Biano white, which exclusive to this edition. For the two-tone version, the roof and mirror caps are painted white, while the body and 16in retro-inspired wheels are blue.
Inside the car is covered in Avorio ivory fabric on the roof door panels and Marrone brown leather seats with visible stitching. The door panels also have extra Grigio gray portions for contrast. The steering wheel is covered in ivory and brown leather. The interior also gets a six-speaker, 276-watt stereo with SiriusXM. The key fob is also brown and ivory with a “1957” graphic.
Sales will begin in spring 2014, and Fiat will begin taking orders in early 2014. It will announce prices then.
