GM Expands Design Center in Korea

is doubling the size of its design center in Incheon, Korea, that will add new modeling studios, display spaces and more creative areas. 

The expansion will be finished in 2013 and employ 200 designers. The Incheon, Korea, design center has already penned the Chevrolet SparkChevrolet SparkUnited States of America, 2009 > present28 versions

“The GM Korea Design Center plays a very important role in GM’s Global Design organization. Its expansion will create an environment for team members to dream, create and develop design strategies for GM’s future product portfolio,” said GM Vice President of Global Design Ed Welburn.

The Incheon design center is one of seven GM design centers world wide. It also has five factories there and employs 17,000 workers in the country. It sold 140,705 there last year but exported 1.9 million.
