GM Has Been #1 Auto Innovator for Last 4 Quarters
General Motors has been the number one automotive innovator according to patent filings among 183 companies as ranked by the Patent Board.
GM filed for 1,123 U.S. patents in 2011. Among them have been patents for quiet brakes that absorb vibrations and mute squeal, voice recognition for OnStar and eAssist Thermal Management that keeps the heat or air conditioning on during times when the auto start/stop is activated.
