The twincharged GT-86 pumps out 316hp and 310.5lb-ft of torque. That is an increase of 116hp and 159.5lb-ft of torque compared to stock. While the horsepower number is impressive, the torque figure is more than double the standard car. In addition to the increase in power, GRMN added their own tuned suspension, brakes, calipers, 20mm wider wheels, a larger front bumper for more air, slits in the hood to get heat out and a massive rear wing. On the inside, the interior was stripped in favor of racing seats for four-point harnesses, a roll cage, GRMN steering wheel and boost, water temperature, and oil temperature gauges. It also removed the rear seats. GRMN claims that the car weight 1280kg, where a stock GT-86 weighs between 1,190kg and 1,250kg depending on specification.
The car is just a concept for now, but given GRMN's tuner status, do not be surprised if you can buy this as a kit at some point in the future.
The twincharged GT-86 is not the first special Toyota that GRMN has worked on. Earlier in the year, it released a limited run of supercharged IQToyota iQJapan, 2008 > present23 versions
