have signed a letter of intent that paves the way for the British automaker to build a factory there. The next step is for Jaguar Land Rover and Saudi Arabia to agree on a location for the factory.

Saudi Arabia is working on a project to increase industrialization within the country by luring international businesses to build factories there. Exactly what this factory will do has not been decided. Jaguar Land Rover says that a current possibility is that it could be for making aluminum components because the world's largest raw aluminum production site will be built in Saudi Arabia in 2014. Jaguar Land Rover expects to know where the factory will be built in 2013.

"We are committed to further international partnerships to meet record demand for our highly sought after vehicles. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an attractive potential development option, complementing our existing advanced facilities in Britain and recent manufacturing plans to expand in other countries including India and China," said Dr. Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover.

Jaguar just broke ground on a new factory with Chery in Changshu, China, that will be completed in 2014.
