Kia Cee'd Revised for 2012 at Geneva

Kia Cee'd Revised for 2012 at Geneva

It is beginning to look like Geneva will be for Europe what NAIAS was for the US. Kia just announced that it will debuting a refreshed Cee'd at the Swiss show.

Kia only released one picture of the new model, but it looks attractive. From that picture it appears to mix Kia styling with a little bit of Renault Megane.

The new Cee'd will debut Kia's Ecodynamics technology in Europe. This tech takes Kia's diesel engine and adds start/stop technology, low rolling resistance tires. For now it will just be available on the 1.6 CRDi engine in England, but it will eventually broaden to Kia's other engines. It produces 89hp and 103g/km of CO2.

Kia plans to offer four engines in the Cee'd: the aforementioned 89hp 1.6 CRDi, a 1.4 liter petrol unit with 89hp,  a 1.6 liter petrol engine with 124hp and another version of the 1.6 CRDi with 113hp.

Other than the new front end, Kia says that it has improved the interior as well. It says that there is higher quality trim

Does this mean Top Gear is going to need a new reasonably priced car?

I sure hope they make this the new Reasonably Priced Car, it looks a lot better than most of Kia's cars.

Kia, like Hyundai, is improving its design a lot. Look at Kia's now, and what they were just 3 years ago. It is unbelievable...
