The new GS has not yet been given a name, but it is due to go on sale late in 2013. It will use a smaller V6 petrol engine with a hybrid drive. The current GS450hGS 450hLexus GS 450hJapan, 2012 > present3 photos
produces 137g/km of CO2 from a hybrid 3.5 liter V6. The most likely route is that Lexus will create a hybrid version of its of its 2.5l V6 found in the GS250GS 250Lexus GS 250Japan, 2012 > present2 photos
and badge it has the GS350h. 

The GS will definitely continue to use a six-cylinder engine because it is easier to keep the engine quiet due to lower rpms.
