Lexus' performance F-moniker is still getting started. The IS-F has been available for a few years, and an aggressive, camoflaged version of the LS has been seen lapping the Nuerburgring. There have also been a few vehicles to carry the F Sport name that have little more than cosmetic upgrades like the CT200h and IS convertible. Still, Rome was not built in a day, and especially with the LFA, Lexus has been building its resume as a performance manufacturer.
The new GS F Sport carries on this performance evolution by adding exterior flourishes, bigger wheels, adaptive sport suspension and better brakes. On the exterior, the F Sport gets a new front bumper with larger air intakes and a new rear spoiler. The interior is done in garnet leather that is going to be found only on the F Sport. It also gets aluminum trim, a black headliner and leather steering wheel and gearshift knob.
For performance, the F Sport also gets a few changes. The Adaptive Variable Suspension has been re-tuned to give a sportier ride. It also gets larger, 356mm ventilated brakes.
Power comes from the same hybrid 3.5 liter V6 as the Lexus GS450h producing 338hp and acclerating to 100km/h in 5.6 seconds.
The GS F Sport will be on display at the SEMA Show starting November 3, and it will be available in Europe and the UK next year.
