Mazda MX-5 GT Will Enter Production in the UK

that debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed will be available with its 203hp 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine in the UK.

However, Jota, which builds the MX-5 GT4 that the GT is based on, does not want to spend the money to get the car homologated for the road so the GT spec will only be available as an aftermarket kit from Jota.

The kit includes a tweaked ECU and sports exhaust to take the 2.0-liter engine from 157hp in the standard car to 203hp. It also gets an upgraded suspension and tweaked styling with wider fenders and a larger front spoiler. The price has not been completely confirmed, but it will be less than £30,000 in addition to the MX-5’s £18,495.

For now, the kit will only be available in the UK. It comes with a three-year warranty.
