to an unnamed customer in the UK, and that means that it can finally reveal the full specs for its latest supercar.

We already knew that the P1 is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor that produces a combined 916 PS (903 bhp). It is enough to get the supercar to 100km/h in 2.8 seconds, to 200km/h in 6.8 seconds and to 300km/h in 16.5 seconds, which is 5.5 seconds faster than the McLaren F1F1McLaren F1United Kingdom, 1992 > present7 photos
could do it. The top speed is electronically limited to 350km/h.

Even with the high performance, the P1 has been certified at 34mpg UK (8.3l/100km) in the EU combined cycle and emissions of 194g/km of CO2. It can run on its electric motor alone for 11km (6.8 miles).

The P1 comes with tires and brakes made specifically for the car by Pirelli and Akebono respectively. It can stop from 100km/h in 30.2 meters (99.08ft).

The first car that McLaren delivered came in Volcano Yellow with unpainted carbon fiber trim.

McLaren plans to build 375 cars, and when production reaches its full pace, McLaren will build one per day. The first car took the 82 workers who are dedicated to building the P1 17 days to complete. When production is over, each car gets a full day of shakedown tests at McLaren’s proving ground. Production is slated to end in mid-2015.

“I am very proud of our Woking based team and everything they have achieved with this ambitious project.  The handover of the first McLaren P1 is another milestone in our 50 year history,” said Mike Flewitt, CEO of McLaren Automotive.

To prove the car’s performance, McLaren rented a private session at the Nürburgring Nordschleife to attempt to set a new record time. No official times from the session have been released yet, but spectators during the lap have released some fan videos.

McLaren denies that it has been trying to set a record time at the 'Ring.

"The McLaren P1T has not set a lap time at the Nürburgring, and the stories being reported by the media online recently are pure speculation.

"It is no secret that the car has been out in Germany doing some development work at the track, which is just one element of a rigorous global test programme," said McLaren Global PR Manager Dave Eden.
