was "designed by air" last week, and it has just launched the interactive web site that it promised in that video.

The web site is the first part in an attempt by McLaren to tell the story of the car's design. The site has four parts that allows users to view the car's aerodynamics in urban, alpine, highway and track conditions. It explains how these conditions affected the car's aerodynamics in the wind tunnel. At some points users can click on portions of the car to see what effect they are having.

“Our main objective with the McLaren P1™ was to design the best driver’s car in the world, on road and track. Managing airflow in and around the car’s bodywork and optimizing aerodynamics was key in achieving this goal. This design philosophy crafted the highly unique and emotive shape of the car," said lead designer Frank Stephenson.
