One of the finalists from the Royal College of Art's vehicle design course imagined a future McLarenMcLarenMcLarenUnited Kingdom, 1963 > present92 models

supercar. The competition called Autopure was sponsored by McLaren and judged by McLaren designer Frank Stephenson. It challenged the young designers to create a minimalist super car. 

The designers were asked to create a car that had “everything for a reason” and “considering social and environmental trends for future vehicles…imagine a small vehicle that encapsulates the brand."

Stephenson and other judges selected five finalists whose proposals were sent to McLaren to be made into 3D models. 

The winning design was Teeravit Hanharutaivan's MP4-S, which is a one-seat concept that you can see in the gallery. You can view more of his work here

Marianna Merenmies created the McLaren JetSet concept with the concept of, "When cities get crowded and limited of access for most powerful cars, raises the growing need for small cars with superior fuel efficiency."

Merenmies already has soon auto design background. She submitted a design for the Volkswagen Up that was one of the four finalists selected by the VW Board. You can few more of her work here
