continued its strong sales in 2013 with a new record of selling 126,421 cars in October, up 15.3% from October 2012. Sales from January to October are up 10.7% to 1,189,059 cars. It is the leading premium car brand in Germany, Japan and the United States.
“In October we increased our sales in every key region. Since our goal is to achieve a new record for 2013 overall, we will continue to rigorously pursue our path of growth as we head towards the end of the year,” said Ola Källenius, the new Mercedes head of marketing and sales.
In Europe, Mercedes-Benz sold 55,235 cars in October, a 6.9% increase, and sales are up 7.3% for the year.
North American sales grew by 25.6% to 33,741 cars in October. Sales for the year grew 13% to 278,360 cars.
In Asia, sales grew 19.9% to 32,303 cars. For the year, sales are up 14% in the region to 312,863 cars.
The compact models continue to be a huge sales success. Worldwide sales of them in October were 36,132 cars, up 72.7%. The E-classMercedes-Benz E-Class Gen.5Germany, 2009 > present345 versions

brand continues to struggle as it switches over its factory to build the next generation. It sold 8,667 cars in October, down 3.5%, and has sold 82,449 cars this year, down 6.3%. Its Car2go car sharing service reached the 500,000-registered customer milestone in October, and they are sharing 9,000 cars worldwide.
