Mercedes Celebrates SLs Roll in Film with Oscar Party

Mercedes-Benz is throwing a big Oscar party this year to celebrate the SL's appearance in film and TV. It is also making a donation to the Film Foundation to support restoring classic and forgotten films. Mercedes claims that the SL has appeared in over 150 films and television shows over the years. 

The party will feature a retrospective on the generations of the SL and have an example of the next generation SL at the party that is not yet available for sale in the US. 

"Classic films are similar to vintage cars in that they are a window into the past, whether communicating society's aspirations or people's style and taste during that era. Restoring Mercedes-Benz vehicles is part of our DNA and we take great personal pride and determination in helping keep thousands of Mercedes-Benz classic cars on the road today and true to their originality," said Michael Kunz, manager of the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Irvine California.
