The new S-Class will get its global debut at an event in Hamburg on May 15. Mercedes reiterated that it will broaden the S-Class range to fill the void left by MaybachMaybachGermany, 1909 > present15 models

"Pushing the S-class upmarket will also further strengthen and balance the Mercedes brand at the top end just as we are going smaller with the A-class range of cars," said Daimler Chairman Dieter Zetsche.

. The new car will be called the SLC, and Mercedes says that a concept is coming soon. Like the SLS, it will eventually be offered as a coupe and convertible.
