"We have no intention whatsoever of withdrawing from the U.S. market. The U.S. market is a very important market," said Masuko.
Currently, Mitsubishi offers four cars in the US and holds 0.4% of the US car market. Sales are down 29% for the year. It has sold about 55,000 vehicles in the US so far this year.

next year and the Outlander plug-in in 2014. The company hopes to increase sales 45% in the next fiscal year to 80,000 cars. By 2014, he wants to increase sales to 100,000 a year.
The Outlander Sport will be built at the company's Illinois factory, and the Mirage will be imported from Thailand.
