. The new front ends are smoother and simpler than their predecessors.

"The more focused and determined-looking headlamps help create this new, expressive ‘face'. We were thinking of a wolf's eyes when we designed them," said Volvo designer Fedde Talsma.

All of the cars will also be available with Volvo's new Sensus Connected Touch infotainment system that includes a 7in touchscreen LCD screen with full Internet access. They will also get a TFT display in the instrument panel that displays vehicle information.

Volvo's D2 diesel engine and automatic transmissions have also been improved to supply better fuel economy. The exact figures vary among the cars, but in general models with an automatic transmission are about 8% more efficient, and the D2 is about 1% cleaner.

Automatic transmission models can also be specified with paddle shifters now.

All of the cars will also be available with a heated windshield and steering wheel as well.

There is also a new Active High Beam Control system that switches between high beams and low beams automatically.

There are a few changes to the individual cars as well. The S60 and V60 will get an updated interior and sporty suspension option that comes from the R-Design model. The S80 will get an Executive package that updates interior trim. The XC60 will get a standard torque vectoring all-wheel drive system.
