brand will be a five-door hatchback that will be revealed by CEO Carlos Ghosn in New Delhi on July 15. It will go on sale in India, Russia, Indonesia and South Africa in the near future. The car will be priced for about €4,270 ($5,575). 

The car will be powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine taken from the MicraNissan Micra Gen.4Japan, 2010 > 201645 versions

at launch. The size will be roughly similar to the Micra but with a lower weight. Sales are expected to begin in 2014.

Where available, the new Datsuns will be sold at Nissan dealers, but the brand will also get its own dealers over time. 

“India is a tough market and it’s not going to be a picnic for us, but we believe Datsun can crack it with modernity and a superior product.” said Vincent Cobee, Datsun Vice President.
