on sale last year, it was just a matter of time until the WRX version hit the streets. The current model is still among the leaders in power among its competitors, but it suffers woefully when fuel economy is compared. The next generation will be revealed at the LA Auto Show in November and will go on sale in 2014. It will only be offered as a sedan for the first time in a model generation.
The style of the car will look similar to the conceptSubaru WRX ConceptJapan, 2013 > present17 photos
shown in March, and the platform will come from the new Impreza. However, unlike the standard Impreza, the WRX will only be available as a four-door sedan. No hatchback will be offered.
The most likely engine is a tuned version of the 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in the new ForresterSubaru Forester 4Japan, 2013 > present12 versions

It will be the first time since 2007 that the WRX will only be available as a sedan, in the previous generation the car could be ordered as either a sedan or a hatchback.
