Nissan Has Best Global Sales Month Ever in August

had quite a strong August with its best single month for sales ever and best August production ever. At the same time, it decreased exports out of Japan.

Nissan sold 391,851 cars in August, up 3.1%, and its best monthly sales ever.

. It was the best August sales for Nissan in its history.

Sales in Mexico were up 14.2% to 22,274 cars, another August record. Nissan has been the highest-selling automaker in Mexico for 51 consecutive months.

Sales in Europe fell 8.1% to 38.459 cars.

It sold 46,910 cars in Japan, up 12.4%, thanks to strong sales of its Kei-class mini cars and the new NoteNissan Note 2Japan, 2012 > present24 versions

. Kei car sales alone were up 40.1% to 14,472 cars.

In China, sales were up 1.0% to 85,998 cars.

In all other regions sale were up 9.8% to 69,404 cars.

Nissan also produced 395,767 cars in August, up 2.1%. It is its highest August production in its history. At the same time, it built 11.7% fewer cars in Japan and exported fewer cars from there to other markets. This is mostly because models that were previously built and exported out of Japan are now being built in Russia.
