Nissan Releases GTR GT3 for Customer Orders

Nissan Releases GTR GT3 for Customer Orders

Nissan has been successful in racing the GT-R so far in FIA GT1 and the Japanese Super GT series winning both last year. Now it is broadening the racing-spec GT-R out into FIA GT3 specifications. The car was developed by Nismo, which is Nissan motorsports division, and JR Motorsports who developed the 370Z GT4 car.

The GT-R GT3 uses a 3.8 liter, twin-turbocharged V6 with 530ps at 6400rpm, which is actually about 10ps less than the current road car. But like the road car, it uses a six-speed transaxle with paddle shifters.

The car was first displayed at Autosport International in the UK on January 12, but Nissan has now announced that the car will cost €298,000. Nismo is prepared to support customer teams in Japan, Asia, North America, South America, and Oceania, and JR Motorsports will support teams in Europe, Russia and the Middle East.

Hopefully, the world will get to see the GT-R dicing with Porsches and Ferraris in the coming sports car racing season.

I have no idea about prices for these race cars... Is it as competitive as the road GT-R versus the Porsche and Ferrari? If yes, indeed, they may florish on the tracks...

I do not understand why power is down from that of the road car? @ki3nan
