is a clean, stylish hatchback. At the front the grill is wide and appears larger because it cuts into the headlights. At the side there are multiple lines that slice out a section of the doors.

Inside, Nissan says that the modern materials used in the chassis like high-strength steel will allow for more room in the passenger compartment.

Nissan is remaining tight-lipped on the Note for now. It is discussing the new supercharged engine that will be in the car in Japan, but the changes that it says will make to the European version are still unknown. Nissan says that the European version will have unique styling and their own suspension set-up.

In Japan, the Note will get a brand new supercharged engine. The HR12DDR (DIG-S) is a three-cylinder, supercharged engine with direct injection that gets 3.97/100km in the Japanese testing cycle. It will use a CVT and have stop/start.

The Note will be the first compact car from Nissan to offer the optional Around View Monitor. The system uses cameras stationed around the car to create a bird's eye view of the car on the infotainment screen.

The Japanese version will be built in Japan, and the European version will be built in the Sunderland, England, factory.
