City Express in the United States and Canada in the autumn of 2014. GM does not currently have a small van in its lineup.

“Our fleet customers have asked us for an entry in the commercial small van segment, so this addition to the Chevrolet portfolio will strengthen our position with fleets and our commercial customers,” said Ed Peper, head of GM commercial sales.

Nissan will build the City Express on the same assembly lines as the NV200. It takes up extra capacity that Nissan had for the NV200.

The NV200 is also sold in the US and Canada. Power comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 139hp and 131lb-ft of torque that gives 24mpg combined fuel economy. Prices start at $19,990.

Prices for the City Express will be announced later.
