Russia is Opel's second largest market worldwide after Germany. In the first six months of this year Opel has grown by 29% in Russia compared to last year. 

The new four-cylinder engine produces 300NM and will begin production before the end of the year. 

Opel expanded into Russia in 1991 and has 143 dealerships there. It is the third largest market for the Astra, but Russian buyers have a preference for sedans over coupes or hatchbacks. That is why Opel introduced the Astra sedan to Russia at the Moscow Motor Show.
