Thanks to this drastic weight reduction Peugeot indicates that all versions will emit less than 100g/km of CO2. The model will be available with four three-cylinder petrol engines, the base version equipped with the 68hp 1.0 e-HDi, with a five-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. The 68hp 1.0 HDi engine will be available with a manual gearbox or with a semi-automatic, both five-speed. Finally the high-end version of the model will be equipped with a 82hp 1.2 liter VTi engine.

In terms of design the new 108 is heavily inspired by the design of the 308, with its LED headlights, chrome accents on the grille and Peugeot emblem placed on the bonnet. At the rear the new 108 has a rear glass door, as the new Twingo. The model will be available in three different body styles, three and five doors and the TOP! version where the roof has a retractable fabric roof.

Inside the 108 is much more high- tech than before. Model receives a seven-inch touch screen (optional in Active version and standard in Allure versions) to control the average car equipment, trip computer, Bluetooth and vehicle configurations. However, unlike the 208, the speed counter was placed on the steering column, while the top range models have keyless opening and ignition as standard.

To help it stand out in an extremely competitive market the 108 will be available with a huge variety of customization options. Customers will be able to choose from eight exterior colors, including a couple of two-tone combinations. The TOP! versions will be available with a choice of three colors for the roof.

Moreover Peugeot will offer seven 'Themes' that integrate extra features as decals, stickers, bright trim pieces and seat fabrics, including houndstooth and tartan.
