is just weeks away from delivering the first 918 Spyders to customers, but it has been able to continually improve the car.

In its final phase of tuning, Porsche has been able to shed the 0-100km/h time to 2.6 seconds (down 0.2 seconds), the 0-200km/h to 7.2 seconds (down 0.5 seconds) and the 0-300kmh time to 19.9 seconds (down 2.1 seconds).

Porsche says that the boost in performance comes from improvements to the car’s hybrid system. On electric power alone, the 918 Spyder will hit 100km/h 6.2 seconds or 6.1 seconds with the Weissach package.

“We have now used all options available to electrify the 918 Spyder, working right up to the last minute to do so,” said Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser who is leading the 918 Spyder development program.

Porsche completed a lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:57 minutes a few months ago, a new lap record for a car of its type.
