. It invited 200 guests including the heads of all of the Volkswagen brands to open the new building on June 12.

“With its extraordinary design, this building is one of a kind. This new building also possesses a symbolic and historic dimension, evoking as it does the common ties that have closely bound Porsche and Volkswagen from the outset and will continue to do so in future,” said Matthias Müller, President and CEO of Porsche.

The foundation stone for the new pavilion was laid last October by Müller and Autostadt CEO Otto Wachs. It was completed by architects at the Henn Architekten firm.

Inside, the pavilion has curved walls and displays 25 Porsche vehicles in 1:3 scale representing the brand's founding in 1948 to the present day. Three real current models also reside in the building.

Porsche has a full museum in its home of Stuttgart.
