Porsche Releases First Video of 918 at Nürburgring

has released the first video confirming the 918 prototypes 7:14 lap time around the Nürburgring. 

On September 18, Porsche says that one of its test drivers took the 918 prototype around one timed lap of the Nürburgring to see what the car was capable of. In case the car did exceptionally well, it was fitted with cameras to record the event. 

Until now, the only proof of the event was a few photos that Porsche released. Today, it released a video showing portions of the car's lap. Keep in mind that the car shown is still a prototype riding on Michelin street tires. Porsche says that it is still improving on the car and aiming to lower the time even more. 

The 7:14 lap time makes the 918 prototype as fast as a Lexus LFA with the Nürburgring packageLexus LFA Nürburgring Pa...Japan, 2011 > present3 photos
