According to Red Bull driver Mark Webber, the team is focusing on improving its qualifying pace during the mid-season test at Mugello this week.
"It's certainly closed up, no question about it. The Saturday pace for us has been more challenging. In Bahrain, Sebastian put in a clean weekend but still wasn't dominating. Obviously off the pole he had more of a clean grand prix to manipulate the race, but no-one has had a dominant weekend," said Webber.
Yesterday, the Red Bull was running with sensors to detect air flow over the body. Despite this, Webber was still the second fastest driver during the test session.
Webber says that the team wants to get back to the dominance that it has had in the last two seasons. He still sees a chance for himself to win the Drivers' World Championship. Webber sits third in the standings now and has been nothing if not consistent coming in fourth in every race this season.
"I am happy to have those points no doubt, and it is a really good base to come in to Europe. You could also say if you had two crashes and two wins you'd have the same number of points, so it's not a very spectacular way to accumulate. You need bigger points than that if you're going to challenge at the end, and I realize that," he said.
