Italian auto magazine Quattroroute has published a rumor that Lamborghini might not make the Estoque sedan and instead produce an Audi Q7-based SUV codenamed LB 736. The car probably will not be at the Geneva Auto Show but is more likely to show up at the Beijing Auto Show, which starts on April 23.
According to Quattroroute, Lamborghini decided that its third model should be an SUV instead of a sedan. The truck would go on sale in 2015. Power will come from either a V10 or hybrid V8 possibly with around 700hp. Weight will be around 2,000kg (4,400lbs).
This could potentially be the third SUV to use the Q7 platform. Bentley has also hinted at building an SUV.
It seems like it would have been better if the Estoque sedan had gone into production. Volkswagen has multiple SUVs in its lineup, including the Porsche Cayenne. While it also has a number of executive sedans, the Estoque would have at least competed against fewer of its siblings.
