Saab Lives for One More Year in Swedish Touring Car Racing

We all know that Saab is really and truly dead, but it looks as if there is one exception. A race-prepped Saab 9-3 will be campaigned by Flash Engineering and Team Fidö in the Sweden's TTA- Racing Elite League racing series. The car will be sponsored by the Saab Dealer Organization, and will be driven by Jan "Flash" Nilsson, Mattias Andersson, Linus Ohlsson and one yet-unnamed driver. 

“I have longed for 40 years to see the fight between Saab and Volvo on the race tracks. It becomes reality this summer and my biggest dream is to get all Saab fans to the TTA races to cheer us on,” said Jan “Flash” Nilsson, driver and Managing Director of Flash Engineering.

The Saab will be competing against cars from Seat, Porsche, BMW and Volvo. The first race will be held on May 12. For support races The series uses Swedish GT, Radical, Trofeo Abarth Scandinavia and GT3 Cup Challenge.

The car will begin testing next week.
