Owning already a 21% stake since 2005, Tata Motors bought the remaining 79% of the Hispano Carrocera S.A. company through the exercise of the call option. The acquisition was made in total agreement with the previous share-holder, Spanish manufacturer Investalia S.A.
Tata Motors wants to show its confidence on the Spanish automaker Hispano as an increasingly strong and valuable car make. The Indian shareholder also intends to further improve Hispano’s operational efficiency and continuous development, for there can be a boost of the Spanish make’s market share as well as an enhanced brand value.
