fully up to speed before it introduced the Model X. They share the same platform and engines.
The first deliveries of the Model X are scheduled for the latter half of 2014.
"The Model X price will be very similar to the Model S. It's probably going to be a slightly higher starting price because the Model X will only be offered as all-wheel-drive. So it'll be dual-motor all-wheel drive,” said Tesla founder Elon Musk.
Previously, Tesla had planned to offer the Model X in either all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive.
Musk said that the price difference would be a "low single digit percentage."
In other Tesla news, Musk announced that he will deliver the first right-hand driver Model S personally to a “high-profile” person in the UK in March 2014. Around the same time it will have its first Supercharger charging stations in the UK.
Tesla is already rolling out sales in Continental Europe with the first units already sold in Germany and Norway.
