The announcement that the American Le Mans Series and Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series would merge came as a huge shock to American sports car racing fans this summer. Especially, when it was revealed that the ALMS was the one being bought, which meant the premiere sports car racing series in North America would be owned by the same company as NASCAR.
While there have certainly been some bumps along the way, it seems that the series might actually be able to unite two vastly different prototype classes and two relatively different sports car classes when it begins with the 24 Hours of Daytona in January.
The new Tudor Sports Car Championship has its first commercial to hype people for the new series and for Daytona.
