Vettel Leads Day in Formula 1 Barcelona Test, Lotus Pull Out Due to Chassis Flaw

Big news from the first day of the second round of Formula 1 testing at the Circuit de Catalunya. Sebastian Vettel was the fastest car on track, and the high speed at Catalunya exposed a flaw in the Lotus' chassis so dire that it had to pull out of the rest of the week of testing. 

Lotus did not go into detail about exactly what was wrong with the E20 chassis that caused them to pull out of testing, but it said that the flaw was shown due to the higher speeds of the test at Catalunya compared to the last test. The team does not expect that it will have a large effect on the teams chances in the championship. A fix has already been determined, but the changes will have to be done at the Lotus headquarters in England. 

Vettel lead the day in his Red Bull, but Nico Hulkeberg was just 0.175 seconds behind him. The most laps of the day were done by Charles Pic who completed 121 laps. HRT did not run any test laps today.
