After that, top players will be separated by region to find the best player. "The Volkswagen fuel saving championship shows that environmentally aware driving is just as challenging as any other driving competition – but much better for the environment. The game combines the online activation of participants with national and international events," said Luca de Meo, head of marketing at Volkswagen brand.
VW's "Think Blue" is its attempt to produce more sustainable cars and being environmentally friendly. It combines technologies in its cars, cleaner production processes, alternative powertrains; VW is trying to make its vehicle production 25% cleaner by 2018.
The app is available for download from the iOS store or on VW's Facebook page.
