X5 and X6 to Get Exclusive Edition Models in Autumn

The BMW X5 and X6 are already packed with optional, luxury features, but BMW will be adding even more options to its Individual program this Autumn. It will also be adding a new set of features under its new Exclusive Edition options. Also coming this Autumn is a new version of the X5 xDrive30d that reduces diesel emissions. 

New for the X5 and X6 in 2011is the Exclusive Edition package of options. These editions come exclusively in Platinum Bronze Metallic for the X5 and Mineral Silver Metallic for the X6. The interior gets major luxury upgrades with an anthracite headliner, Bamboo wood accents. The heated front seats are in oyster-colored leather with black contrasting stitching. Also available on the Exclusive Edition models are optional 20-inch Y-spoke wheels. 

Under the Individual Program, BMW is adding Citrine Black Metalic as an exterior color to the X5 and X6, and all models with the Individual options will get door sill finishers labeled with BMW Individual. BMW is also adding Amaro Brown as a color for the extended leather package in the X5 and X6, and the X5 is now available with an M sport steering wheel with gearshift paddles. 

This Autumn BMW will also introduce the X5 xDrive30d with Blue Performance that reduces Nox emissions by adding a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst and Nox absorber. This added equipment makes no change in performance but reduces nitrous gases and sulfur oxide. BMW claims that the new technology is maintenance-free for the lifetime of the vehicle. Fuel consumption and emissions both see improvements. The Blue Performance models reduces fuel consumption to 7.5l/100km from 8.3l/100km and emissions are down to 198g of CO2 per kilometer from 236g/km for the current model.

BMW did not announce prices for the new options or packages but expect more information when the new models are released later this year.
