The 1962 winner of the LeMans endurance race is the last built from the successful Testa Rossa series. Only one car was made and today it is considered one of the most valuable cars in the world.
In a 2007 auction the sum of $9,281,250 was paid for this car.

In 1962 the LeMans committe ACO introduced an experimental class to the race that required cars to have a four litr displacement. The Ferrari engineers took up the challenge to create a car based on the successful Testa Rossa.
The car used the adjusted TRI chassis and the V12 engine of the 400 SuperAmerica that was tuned to produce an output of 390 bhp. The body added on top of this was a design by Fantuzzi.

The chassis of the 330 TRI/LM combines the traditional ladder frame and the spaceframe design. It uses two large diameter longitudinal members with much of its rigidity provided by a web of smaller diameter tubes.
The suspension consists of double wishbones, coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers on all sides. Disc brakes by Dunlop were used and a five-speed gearbox.

The body designed by Fantuzzi uses the advanced aerodynamics of the day. Striking features are the twin-nostril nose and the high, cut-off 'Kamm' tail.
