H. A. Lozier Co. was founded by Harry A. Lozier in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. in 1916. The first prototype of a HAL (acronym of the founder’s name) automobile was presented at the New York Automobile Show in 1916. Hal’s were luxury, high performance cars. When the founder had to retire the very same year for health reasons, the company was renamed to Hal Motor Car Company. Victim of WWI as many other automobile builders, Hal Motor Company entered into financial difficulties and went bankrupt in 1918.
