. The center stack is the same including the engine start button and gear selector. There is a new infotainment system though. Legroom is up 37mm, shoulder room up 25mm, elbow room up 87mm and knee room up 50mm compared with the DBS. The new car also has 140% more storage than the DBS as well.
The engine is Aston Martin's new 6.0l V12 with 565hp and 620Nm of torque with a top speed of 183mph. It is mated to Aston Martin's new Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic gearbox with a limited-slip differential. For the moment, the automatic will be the only availabe transmission on the Vanquish for the time being. The new Vantage gets to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds. In comparison, the DBS had 510hp and 569Nm. With the Touchtronic transmission, the DBS accelerated to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds, and it had the same 183mph top speed.
“Today’s Vanquish is the ultimate expression of Aston Martin design ethos, engineering innovation and technical ability. It offers luxurious, continent-crossing capability and pure driving excitement without compromise. Bearing the same name as the iconic original Vanquish that did so much to cement Aston Martin’s reputation as a maker of great GT cars in the modern era, I believe the car unveiled today once again puts this great British brand at the top of its class," said Aston Martin CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez.
The Vanquish will start at £189,995, and it will go on sale in the UK and Europe this fall.
